I've had good luck treating white mold (which I realize isn;t what you have) with copper-salt fungicides (I use Safr brand spray).

I've heard of other who have used athlete's foot medications on various splotchy-type infections with some level of success, but have never done it myself.

In general though, physically excising (cutting away) the infected area is the most effective treatment. Sadly, that disfigures the plant much more than the other chemical methods.

The best thing to do is figure out what they are and how they got there...then modify your cultural practices as needed so it doesn't happen again

Spots like you describe often mean terminal illness. If the rot started in the roots, or at ground level, it could be slowly hollowing out the interior of the plant. It may already be too late.

Remove it from the container and examine the plant carefully. It is possible that surgery can save it, but that only works if the rot is external. Rot moving upwards in the vascular tissue can only be salvaged by transecting the plant above the level of the rot.
