unusual germination

I have a Thuja koraiensis it coned and I

got some seeds and now they are starting

to germinate in a heated propagator.I am

pleased about this as ive never seen seed

of T koraiensis or any other Asiatic Thuja

offered before. The tree is in my yard with

other Thujas T plicata T occidentalia and

T standishii.

High risk that the seedlings will be hybrids, with whichever species was shedding pollen at the same time that the seed cones were receptive.

Hi Resin

Interesting that I could have a new hybrid
however I have never known the other young
Thujas to shed pollin.But I did have a 4ft
T standishii that also coned but the seed
was desicated and the plant is dead. When
these T koraensis seedlings grow up I will
try to post pictures on this forum. Is it
true that there is a hybrid between T Plicata
and T occidentalis.
