The Jicama I posted as planted in pure perlite sitting in a shallow bowl of water(AUG 24TH) has sprouted long white roots.(SEPT 15)
I have found pure perlite over the years to be the best media to start cuttings. Not mixed with anything else it stays moist and yet, much air gets to the roots of the cuttings.
When it sprouts top growth,I will continue to keep it in the perlite. After it gets a good top growth THEN,move it to a mixed soil.
