Waco Show Pics

The C&S Seminar was held at the Carleen Bright Arboretum located just west of Waco in the city of Woodway. Beautiful place with two C&S gardens. Pics are of the grounds, plants for sale, for auction and for show. This is my first time using Flickr.

This E. knuthii won the award at a previous show.

Hello,
Reiver, thanks for sharing the pics!

Can you (or anyone else) tell me what is the plant in the 12th pic, the tall one in the middle-left? Right after "some show plants". The soil mix (sand?) looks beige.

Sure looks like it was worth the drive! Some really nice plants there, for sale and in the show. The E. knuthii is insane! Was it collected? I'm also with you Reiver, the E. cylindrifolia ssp tubifera is totally drool worthy!

I liked the photos of the gardens too. I think the Pachy looks a little lost among all those new-world succulents. I guess they just couldn't resist planting something as cool as a Pachypodium ;-)

I really appreciate you posting these. Lots of fun to look through!

A best of show winner I finally agree with. No doubt.

That Pachypodium is planted in ground? or is it a large potted plant plunged in ground for show?

Reiver..Wow..Great show!!!
What is the Winning plant? Does 'E' stand for Euphorbia? If it does, do you know if the plant is also called Spurge?
The little yellow caterpillar is cute, but that huge spider, can go..yuck. Does he come with the plant? lol
The road runner is adorable..never saw one before.
Great pics, bet you and your child bride had a great day..Toni

curiouscomputer, I am sorry but I don't know. I meant to investigate more but was very tired and left early.
hopeful, E. stands for Euphorbia in this case. Spurge is a common name for Euphorbia but I think, if I am not mistaken, it refers usually to outdoor garden varities. Since the critters were in a cactus garden area I felt I could get away with posting them on here. :-)
stanofh, I suspect it is dug up each fall. We do that with many of our plants in Fort Worth. I must remember to take my camera when we move plants inside this year.
joscience, next time I will go to sleep early the night before so I can attend all the activities or get a room in town the night before. I missed a lot.
heygeno, thanks! caudex1 and others are great about sharing photos and I am trying to return the favor in my humble way.
