Agave leaves have a sharp spine at the tip of each leaf, Aloe does not. That is an Agave, but I don't know which species or hybrid it is.

This reminds me a little of one I have. Now mine is very small, in a butter bowl at the moment. lol!
Mine has a similar color, kinda a rose or plum color on the underside of leaves.
And the older teeth are white. It also has a different texture. Not as slick or glossy as other agaves.

The dark reddish teeth of Agave guiengola are sure spot on for mine... other pics on the 'net don't seem to have the blush coloring under the leaves but maybe that's a juvenile feature, too. Hmmm... interesting. I think that's a definite possibility. Thanks!

Thank you! :) I just got it a few weeks ago and have already seen one leaf unfold.

I too am a little puzzled about the name and color. I have searched and like you have not found one with the beautiful blush.

Like you said, it could be for the young. But yours is a good size.

I know alot of succulents have different colors determined by the amount of sun they get.

I got it from a very reliable nursury, so am confident the name is right.

It does seem alot like yours.

I think I may have a plant like yours, the coloring is right. Tomorrow morning i will bring it into the house and compare it with your picture. I have a small collection of about 20-25 of miniaure or small young species. I saw it this afternoon, but now I'll take a better look. Norma
