graft update

Here's an Abies concolor 'Charming Chub' from last September.

Shortly after the scion was grafted about a year ago, all the needles fell off. The scion looked ok, and there seemed to be viable buds, so I planted it out.

Here it is this spring!

Nate, great grafting job of these special finds!
In this way you'll continue the availlabillity for the collectors!

That 'JM3C' will be great plant some day with the multiple scions grafted on the same understock :0)

Looks great Nate. That JM3C looks really interesting. Will names someday be put on these?

Those are the names, Cher. :)

Glad to see JM3C: I could use one of those extra's next year.

    Take care,

Well that's not real memorable. I like things like Sharp Cheddar, now that is one that will be remembered. :) Thanks for the answer Dax.

Interesting about 'Charming Chub', good to see it take off as it is a neat plant. I've liked that one ever since I saw your Denver Botanical Garden pic of it. JM3C looks good as well. Let's see, JM is a given, hmmmm...3C...3C...3(s)cions?

    Clement, that larix looks great!

Edwin, Cher, Josh, Matt, and TJ, glad you enjoyed.

Cher, hopefully I've redeemed myself with Green Fairy and Jade Sky. ;) TJ, you've got the JM but not the 3C (good guess though!). One of these days I'll fess up.

Dax, you're looking at your future JM3C scionwood there.

    Here are a few more.

Nate, the Pinus 'Pstra' is a nigra cultivar indeed.

If I remember well the Abies lasiocarpa 'Jade Sky' was found by you.
Please, can you show us again the pic with the motherplant so we can see how it looks like?
    Thanks!

Wow more fantastic photos and I owe you a huge apology. There is sure nothing wrong with that name and I'm still trying to pry foot out of mouth. LOL

Green Fairy and Jade Sky. Not only are the names fantastic and memorable, but both plants look fantastic. Love them. Thanks for being a good sport.

    Nate's badass. He won't care.

Here's Abies lasiocarpa Jade Sky, Edwin:

Cher, I don't believe he'll even know what you're talking about :-)~ I don't.... seems to me the initial confusion was why (3) scions were on 'JM3C'. :)

Wow! Great looking grafts, Nate! Especially like The P.p, 'JM3C' , A.l. 'Jade Sky' and P.m. 'Green Fairy' . Looks like you've got your system down to a science. Congrats on your success.
