We've identified pine bark aphid on the truck and stems of a dwarf white pine in our landscape and are looking for tried and true solutions. Anyone else have luck eradicating this pest and what did you use? We've read about horticultural oils and pesticides but the literature doesn't identify brand names of the effective pesticides so we're not sure what to look for at the nursery. We've tried the Bayer 2 in 1 systemic granules the last 2 years and it doesn't seem to be having any impact so we're looking for something else. We really would hate to lose this specimen. It's been here about 7 years now and is otherwise growing well although my DH is worried that the candles look stunted this year.
