Name changed to what ?

This has bugged me for a long time.
In Richard bitner's book "conifers for gardens" (page 90)
he shows Chamaecyparis pisifera 'EricoidesAurea'
I can't find any reference to this name any where.

so they changed the name to what ?

it's kinda nice --nice color , form........any one ?

ron

It's 'Golden Cushion'.

There's a separate cultivar called 'Ericoides'.

Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Ericoides' got lost in cultivation. Most plants under this name are in reality Chamaecyparis thyoides 'Ericoides'...

Plantkiller, can you show us a pic of your 'Ericoides Aurea'?
Maybe then we can help you out...

take your book to the computer ..... hook up to google... and type in the sentence ... hit enter ...

and then copy the link.. if you get lucky ... paste it below where you type...

ken

Here is a link that might be useful: e.g. you could take this link.. to google translate ... and it will.. sorta.. translate the page

Well I thought either 'Golden Cushion' or 'Golden Pincushion' then. A book of mine lists 'Golden Pincushion' but not 'Golden Cushion'. Iseli Nursery introduced 'Golden Pincushion' in 1982.

There is also listed: 'Ericoides Aurea'. I'm going to say your original post I may have thought the plant was 'Golden Pincushion' and an error of 'Golden Cushion' on my behalf, then. One way or another, 'Ericoides Aurea' or 'Golden Pincushion' are going to be very similar.
