HI - Off center and not too high please . Just where the puppy is and 52 inches from floor to center of painting or if going above sofa back leave bottom of frame 6 inches from top of sofa back. Looks like a great room there !

i think it will be better if you put it in the center of the wall but not too high in the same level as the door !!!

It's to the back of the sofa, so consider it it's own space,if nothing else is going on the wall center it at eye level, if you are going to add things to the wall then hang it where ever it fit with the other items.

I'd keep it exactly where it is, just raise it to the height of the doorframe. That wall is waaaaay too big for just that piece of art, and I feel centering it would make the wall seem bare. Keep it off-center, and balance it with another piece of artwork, long mirror, book case, or even floating shelves to the left.

I'd put it off center to the left and hang some sconces to the right of it. Also hang it slightly below the door frame.

Looks as though the homeowner wants the Art to be the focal point so adding more art around it would look like a collage or photo gallery. The Art is a good size so it works alone. I would address furniture placement!!

I was gonna say what Anthony said, a long console or sofa table a little longer than the Art with a nice Vase or decorative accents on it with the Art above, plus a rug and the TV would look better on the wall. nice home, congratulations.

CID, so wall-mount the TV and either get rid of the stand in lieu of another piece of furniture or leave the stand as is with the components on the bottom and some accents on the top?

I think this particular piece is much too small in proportion to the size of the wall, if going for a focal piece of art it should ideally be at least double that size. If that's not an option, then I would hang it central on the wall above a console table, styled with complementary accesspories .. a beautiful lamp, a large vase of flowers, a stack of smll books & one or two decorative ornaments etc :)

I would hang a fairly large vertical piece to line up with the sofa and 2 smaller horizontal pieces to the left of the piece. This way, you follow the lines of the sofa and also balance out the wall.

Eye level and there are no rules. If you are love symmetry, center it on the wall between the left wall and door; not the entire wall. I would suggest you put something else back by that wall, though, maybe on the left side, such as a hat rack or sculpture stand, and then center it between that and the door. Great dog by the way! Gotta love those Goldens!

57" to the center of the artwork from the floor. This is a standard used by museums and a comfortable eye level height. Center it on the wall, unless you use a floor lamp or greenery on the left to change the center perception .

It looks like a very nice piece of art and the shape and proportion look fine.. Center the piece on the wall, not too high and definitely not even with the door frame at the top... it will create too much of a horizontal line. Filling the volume created by the high ceiling can be done in other ways. I love using chadeliers...high ceilings are a good thing. Now that you have the approximate location of the art use your judgement and enjoy the room.

Hi, the center of the wall between the door and left corner will look nicer than the center of the room. You can't really put a tall item in the left corner because you have another door opening there, Height generally dictates the center at eye level but you do not want the top frame above the door molding. The painting looks about 3' high, try 40"+/- off the floor, and see if that puts the top of the frame just below the door height. That will still leave room for a console table below with a few accessories should you decide to do that. Great wal color!

Hi, I agree with Evoke Home Staging & Property Styling except that the console table needs to be narrow as there is a doorway to the left so any big piece of furniture will obstruct the way. Another alternative: to hang it closer to the right (off-centre) and place a small narrow console table underneath this picture, with some candles, magaziness on it or a small statue or vase. Now when you added 2 additional photos of the other side of the room, it makes it possible to see the room as a whole and that is how it always should be! The art work is just one piece of the puzzle and ultimately it all needs to feel right all together. Try different positions of the furniture, play around with the layout a bit, and only when you decided that is how it is going to be, hang the art around it to balance it with the furniture and where the wall looks to empty. A picture on the wall needs to be in balance with the furniture positions, by balance I don't mean always symetry. You have so many doors there that it seems the best solution to put the sitting area in the centre of the room not to obstruct passage ways. And to have a view to that balcony/terrace window. I would hang sth smaller just above the TV, to add some coziness to that tv corner, after all you sit there facing THAT WALL more often than facing the back wall.

Yeah, definitely closer to the right where the dog is now with some nice narrow console table underneath, so that when you walk through that door on the left into the room, you won't bump into the furniture. Hanging that picture alone in the centre of the wall is the worst solution, it would look solitaire and to small for that big wall...

As far as placement goes I agree with Scott and Sheila. As far as everything else - if you enjoy art, and it seems you do, enjoy this one piece all by itself until the urge to acquire something else happens. I do not recommend buying things just to fill up space.

That's a good idea. We've got a couple of lanterns and they have battery operated candles in them. I bet they'll look nice.
