Pinus bungeana

Looks like my P. bungeana except for the obvious nitrogen deficiency.

Obvious nitrogen deficiency? Are you referencing the tint of the needles?

Yep, the yellowish foliage suggests nitrogen deficiency - a common occurrence with plants that have spent a long time in pots.

Agree Pinus bungeana.

Resin

P. Bungeana it must be. The lady I bought it from thought it was red pine. I dismissed it because i was thinking japanese red pine--densiflora. She probably was thinking chinese red pine Pinus tabulaeformis which i just noticed is similar to bungeana-- has the same peeling bark when young. They grow in the same geographical location.
Anyway thanks for the id. I'll send my dog out to take care of that nitrogen deficiency until I get this tree in the ground.
