Neat room and I see where you're going. Pull the exact navy that is in the tile and paint your blue over w the navy. Paint the ship'swheel white and how about some red knobs and red, white and blue towels. I did my daughters nursery in these colors and it is ADORABLE!

Ahh...try to rehang the mirror up so that it is all on the wall and not on the tile:)

I think the mirror frame is fine as is, would not paint it white; it works well with the wood-look ceramic floor tiles. Hanging the mirror so that it's all on the wall will allow only those taller than 6 feet to view themselves. It's positioned where it is for viewing purposes.

Lol, I'm sorry, but one more thing! That little picture hanging behind the commons needs its friends that I see hanging on the opposite wall in the mirror. Then take whatever is above the mirror and move it to where they were hanging. Ok...I think that does it! Hope this helps getting the wheels turning and I'd love to see your redo. Good luck!

Yes, more prints are needed above the "commons"??....I think you meant commode?? Anyway, the print above the ships wheel is there because the light fixture above it cannot be lowered. I did not like the void between the two so it will stay as is.

Personally, I love the room. The blue wall is fantastic and the ship's wheel tying into the floor is perfect. I would hang all three pieces of art vertically so as to balance the piece above the ship's wheel. Perhaps you can find a sizeable canvas to go on that wall opposite the sink, where the two small pieces of art are now. If you hang a larger piece it will offset the tile and smaller pictures that are all very much the same scale. Also, I like using the navy and white rug to ground your tiles. Not crazy about the "matching" rug at the sink. What is the paint color you used? I love periwinkle in this context. Great job.

I love color and hate "neutrals" (come on its just beige with clever names) but I agree with Carolyn that its just not right. I think it needs to be the softer blue or more of a navy.

Not sure how grey would work but for me the best thing in this room is the vanity top and its lost with all the nautical stuff

The paint is Ben. Moore blue lapis. The bathroom is "nautical themed" because my home is on the bay at the shore. Not a fan of dark navy on the walls nor grey.

HI -- The color is pretty, but too bright . I think if you did the walls in white and then used that blue for accents. Hang your small pictures together either vertical or horizontal but not stepped (old fashioned ). If you don't want to go white , then maybe a water blue or match the tiles and go navy , But I like the white better because the bathroom is not very big.And white is just so clean looking and then you could have white towels with a dark navy or blue trim,- very spa like. Like the mirror , and also where it is ,not any higher. When you do a themey room you don't have to do everything in that flavor.

Paint white stencil flowers to tone down the effect , that will make it Gel .

Love the lapis. I looked up the sample. This family of blue can be very tricky and I think you did a great job. Not the perwinkle I was seeing but still a great choice with your navy. You might even want to pick up a little red hand towel to lay on the counter? The blue is fine as well. Is it possible to paint the foreground paler blue in a white?

I would probably have done something in a blue that was a little more toned down. more of a sky blue color! Love the mirror!

It clashes - sorry. I suggest a light grey color to pick up the color in your countertop. Painting the walls navy would match, but would end up making your bathroom feel dark + small.

I just saw a beautiful color called "Indigo" - forget who did this - but check some colors on HGTV.com - new colors for fall - sorry but I think this is a Little over the top - it looks like a color in a bad Restaurant. If you cannot raise the mirror - (I am assuming this is a kids bath?) perhaps take off the bottom two handles hanging over the tile.
