My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

What is the distance between the columns?

Would you consider 6 feet too small if entering a room 14 feet wide x 32 long. One side of the room (or columns) is dining where wall is 8 feet long, then the opening, then the livingroom. New construction, so I have time to adjust. Thx for your help.

    it's 7'3" between the ends of the bookcases. 6' seems a tad tight. If you have the space I'd make it a bit wider.

    I wasn't sure if it would be annoying or PC to simply say thank you, so after a month of hemming and hawing, I wanted to say thank you. I am going to make the bookcase length shorter to make the opening larger as you suggest.
