I'm not too sure about specializing in palms, but a great local nursery is Secret Gardens. 233-1419

I really won't be of any help here because I've only passed through Savannah several times to get to Tybee Island, but there is a small nursery on the island. The last time I was there was in August and they didn't have a whole lot...They may not at this time of year either but it might be worth checking out if you have plans to cross the bridge. It's on the left side of the road as soon as you've crossed (across from the Crab Shack if I remember correctly).

Maybe not for palms specifically, but Hester & Zipperer has decent plants and a good selection from Monrovia Nurseries. They have a nursery on Wilmington Island and one on Skidaway Rd.

If you go at the right time of year, you can collect seeds. I seem to remember that there are seed-producing Butia c. at the East end of River Street.

Palms?
There are two places-one is a very small place on Dean Forest Rd, direction 17 not too far down from the exit off of 16. The other is Tim and Dave's Nursery in Richmond Hill-loads of palms there.

Also, for the locals-Secret Garden has a new location on route 17, on the way to the new Kroger and Berwick Plantation. I visited it yesterday and they do have some large and lovely specimens. The gal there said it was going to be more of a showroom then their other location.

I do really like Four Seasons on route 204. Both the owner and his daughter are horticulturists and they have nice selections.

Driving by the Southern (Savannah?)Tree Nursery on Montgomery Cross Road this morning. They have lots of palms. They are right next to the Hayner's creek bridge.
