Take the pallet to the gourd and get at least 5 or 6 guys for the next one. OR, let them dry a month or so and they will lose a substantial amount of weight so they can be moved with less risk to the gourd, and your aching backs.

Suggestion....maybe you have tried it but it has worked for us...we use either bed sheets or blankets to move large pumpkins at our pumpkin stand. One person on each corner and usually we have no problem.
Also my husband came up with this one and it works well...
we use a large sled to haul up large pumpkins and squash. This year we hauled 400 lb+ pumpkins on it.
The sled is a big black heavy duty sled he uses for trapping and pulling his ice house out on lake. He got it at local sporting goods store.
We can use man power to pull it or hook it to mower or to boat hitch on back of our jeep. It really works and is a lot easier to work with than trailer because is closer to ground and don't have to lift up as far as with trailer.
