Storing food processor / appliance accessories

My boyfriend's mom gave me a beautiful Cuisinart food processor for Christmas, and it came with a whole bunch of blades. They came packed in a little styrofoam block that keeps them all safe & organized. I wouldn't mind keeping the whole thing in the box, but the base is heavy and has no good handles, so it's hard to get it in & out of the box without banging it around.

Anyone have a storage suggestion for all the blades & accessories? I keep my canning accessories & stand mixer parts & attachments in an airtight Rubbermaid-style container designed to hold file folders, but another one of those would be too big to fit in the cabinet where the food processor will be.

I sure do love this thing. Its inaugural process was oatmeal crumb topping for a pie made of crust & apples both frozen back in October. The bushel of apples went down extra easy this year since four pies' worth of slices ended up in the freezer. The whole pie took maybe half an hour to put together including rolling the crust & cleaning up. Bf said, why are we having pie?, and I said, because we can.

I keep my Cuisinart in a closet off the kitchen. It is much too big to keep in a kitchen cupboard. I don't put it in the box it came in, I just set it on top of the box along with the box of cutting blades. Just cover with a towel if you're worried about dust.

Years ago, my dad converted a regular closet to a closet with nice big deep shelves. These are where I store all of my sausge making equipment as well as some canning items, and special baking pans. If you have a spare closet, take out the rod that clothes hook on, and put in some shelving. with about 20 inches of spacing between each

Melissa, they make a storage container available as an accessory. I don't know if it fits the parts for your model, but it's here -

Here is a link that might be useful: Blade Holder

Morz8, that is just the kind of info I was looking for, thank you! I'll have to count how many discs I have...if it's more than three, maybe I'll have to find a little hatbox to hold them, but right now I am leaning toward getting one of these official caddies sometime.

Ken, my boyfriend's house has a closet like that downstairs, and I will be moving a bunch of canned stuff into it since I do so much cooking here. If my processor doesn't end up fitting nicely in the upstairs cabinets, it will go in there too. When I saw the huge empty shelves, I knew they'd be perfect for canning stuff.

    Thanks for the replies!

My hsuband and I are starting a remodeling job on our house, so we had to move a lot of our stuff around- I was faced with the same delima with the accessories. I found plastic baskets at the dollar store make great storage! I get like 3 for $1 and can use them anywhere. All of my food processor blades fit in one, and then stack on a shelf above the machine. It is all there, and convenient.

    good luck!

I'm planning to build a free standing cabinet for my Kitchenaid mixer. I don't want to haul it out the mixer out to use it. It will reside on top of the cabinet and have a dust cover. The cabinet will have a pair of doors for storage of other stuff below.

If woodworking wasn't one of my hobbies I would buy the cabinet.

Fortunately, my small kitchen has a convenient spot for this cabinet.
