Treat it just as you would parsley.

My experience with chervil is that it doesn't like near the sun that parsley does. A lightly shaded area does very nicely for chervil. It bolts very quickly if it gets too much sun.

It is more delicate than parsley and will tend to grow spindly and then lodge(fall over). It is also more difficult to weed because of its delicate stems and it doesn't compete with other plants well.

Chervil likes cool weather, lots of moisture, and sweet (limey) rather than acid soil.

My mother grew it very well on the north side of her house in Pennsylvania, which had neutral soil. It also grew particularly well near the spring on her land and came back year after year. I am not sure if it is an annual or perennial. My impression is that it is an annual, perhaps a reseeding one when happy.

It does fade away, like pansies, in hot weather, so enjoy it in the early months of the year when it is cool. It probably can take more sun when there is plenty of cool moisture.

Chervil is a fabulous herb to have in salad. It is considered one of the very finest tasting (mildly anise-like in flavor).
