shade container suggestions

Hi, all

I'm a newbie to the forum and have a question.

I have some patio areas that are pretty shady but would love a nice container of happy herbies

any suggestions?

Does your patio get any sun? Or is it always in the shade?

just maybe an hour a day around midday. It's at the below ground entrance to a basement.

I would suggest mints, to begin with, since they can handle shade and are generally best kept in pots where they can't sneak into neighboring gardens. To that I would add sweet marjoram, thyme, and lemon balm. I am farther south than you (Fort Worth) and have these growing happily in mostly shade. Onion chives should also work.
