anyone checking out the hostas? bidding? breathing?

wish there were a couple i could get........at a fraction of the price

Lots of nice plants...with big price tags!

I really like H. 'Jim Hawes'.

I've been watching..... not bidding though. Too darn rich for my budget.

I would about give every hosta I already have for a piece of Uberageous though. That one just does it for me - blue, cream and gorgeous............ Sigh.

I really like the uber too

I heard a rumor don may make a donation that i think everyone is going to be bidding on

but i may just have to wait until it comes out in tc ;~(

Rhino hide is really taking off. Nice to see a non-streaker doing so well. Way to go Don, nice donation.

Can someone tell me if 1/2 the money is going to THL this year or not, I can't seem to find out what the plans are this year with the money.

I am curious. Once you have hosta, you have hosta and they divide so easily; why not trade with the other hosta loves?
I bought about 8 to 10 too get started and no I trade for the new onews I like.

It is great that you can trade and get all of the hostas you want. I trade hostas with friends also.
The trouble is that you have to be careful who you trade with to make sure you get problem free plants. Also if you don't have many plants or any newer ones people are not going to trade a new plant they paid a lot of money for for a common plant that has been around for a long time.
I am pretty sure there will not be anyone trading for the plants from the auction. Most are very rare and only one or two available. Not that they are any better plants then ones you can trade for they are just harder to come by (rare). In fact there are some people that say the common ones are better and will grow better but when you pay big $$ for them they are sure to die - or at least be eaten by the deer
