Hi ont_gal - I found a recipe in the BBB that is similar and might work for you. It doesn't go by that name but it is safe. ;)

Cucumber Relish (6 pints)

2 qts. chopped cukes (8 medium)
2 c chopped green sweet peppers
2 c chopped red sweet peppers
1 c chopped onion
1 T tumeric
1/2 c canning salt
4 qts. cold water, divided
1 1/2 c brown sugar
1 qt. vinegar
2 sticks cinnamon
1 T mustard seed
2 tsp. whole allspice
2 tsp. whole cloves

Combine vegetables in large bowl and sprinkle with tumeric. Dissolve salt in 2 qts. cold water and pour over vegetables. Let stand 3-4 hours. Drain, cover with 2 quarts cold water and let stand 1 hour. Drain thoroughly.

Combine sugar and vinegar in large sauce pot, tie spices in bag, add spice bag to sugar mixture. Bring to a boil and pour over vegetables. Cover and let stand 12-18 hours. Bring vegetables to a boil, reduce heat and let simmer till hot throughout. Pack into hot jars leaving 1/4 inch headspace. Remove air bubbles. Adjust caps. Process 10 mins. in boiling water bath canner.

I think if you want more onions, you can substitute 1 cup of each of the peppers with onions as long as you keep the total cups the same.

Sorry, Ball Blue Book - a great (and cheap ;) source of hundreds of tested and approved recipes. We refer to it so much here that we usually just call it BBB.
