Robellini - Are the spikes toxic?

OK, I am a dummy! I trimmed the robellini on the other side of my house (not done for almost 4 years) and got stuck all over. Now I have swollen sores, blisters and all of my joints ache. Are the torns toxic. I have searched the web and found some others with the same question, but no definitive answers. Anyone?

I do not think so, I get stuck by them all the time. But that is not to say you are not allergic. I have never shown an allergy to any kind of plant life until I removed a banana tree and got the sap of the trunk all over my hands and arms.

Needless to say I was an itchy bumpy mess. :) Had to call the Doc and get prescription steroid cream. I suggest you do the same if you have not already.

Thanks linchat. This has happened before when I trimmed the one on the other side of my house. I should be more careful when trimming I guess.

What did you learn? I just moved into a house.. Palm not trimmed in the 4 years it was planted. I've got the same welts with blister like things all over my arms, hands amass part of my back. Did video Doc work covid going on. He just prescribed steroids. Curious what you're fix was. Thank you!
