If you have a gas grill you can use your BWB canner on it. Inaddition to the towels and potholders, a small cake drying rack works too. My only concern with the silicone potholders (never tried them) is that they aren't very thick and that the heat could cause them to bond to the bottom of the pan. JMO but I think a folded kitch towel would work better.

Something that has a few holes to allow the heat up through the water. The top of the jars must also be covered by at least 2 inches of water. A bunch of the canning rings can be set onto the bottom, also a round cake cooling rack if it fits. Add a small amount of vinegar to the boiling water to prevent/reduce any calcium buildup. The towel will also work, and will usually not burn as its always at 212 or under. Suggest you read all the many posts about smooth top ranges, and some alterative solutions. You simply do a search for the info.
