Attractive numbers remind me of Art Nouveau. My suggestion would be to fill it in and put a raised panel covering.

Will your new number plaque cover the hole from the mailbox? The hole is just about dead center so it wouldn't look bad, it would be kind of unique! Other than that, replacing the door is all I can think of.

Chrome is pretty close to timeless for hardware. I would go that route, or brushed nickel.

Is the patio furniture in bad shape? You could save money by having it spray painted. I bought all new patio furniture this year, and it's not cheap!

If you ask 10 people on Houzz what door color you should have, you will get 10 different answers, from turquoise to apple green to charcoal to sky blue. I really think it's a personal choice. Let's see what everyone else says!

dcer. here's another thought, whatever door color you choose you could try to coordinate your new patio cushions with it, when you buy them next year. Also your new house numbers have a bit of yellow in them, maybe yellow for the door color?

I think......ok, here it is. You should paint the porch ceiling blue, paint the door a pale yellow, get seat cushions in the darker yellow with white patio furniture. Love the Palladian Blue ceiling. I painted all the interior ceilings in my coastal marsh home this color, half-cut with white. It changes color at different times of the day so there is always a fresh look.

I like linda's idea and then putting the house number plague elsewhere. I like the idea of a yellow door as well! It will be very sunny and inviting! The darker door you have now is nice, but if you want a less formal look, then do the yellow!

I would look for something close to the center of those jonquils on your tiles...

I love the number plaque, very Hawaiian/tropical feel to it.

I wouldn't even attempt to patch the hole in the door...I would replace with a wooden door that has a large window and stain it to match your plaque.

As for the porch, it appears to be concrete...but I am trying to look at it on a small iPhone so I could be wrong. If it is concrete I'd do stone pavers right over top of it. Gives you a brand new look without having to rip anything out.

I like your blue ceiling. Yellow shade of your choice for the door, just remember to keep the area around the doorknob washed. I would probably choose black wrought iron door hardware. The tiles look as if they could have been handmade, and wrought iron continues that theme. White wicker sounds pretty for your porch for next spring.

I'm not very knowledgeable about wicker furniture color trends. It is rarely used in New Mexico, where I live. I thought that white wicker would be pretty with your other colors and would look fresh and clean.

Crimson red or blue like Bobbi P's flower with black oil rubbed door hardware should definitely pop it out. Lose the wicker and use wood furniture maybe of a distressed finish....but have fun...

I've had white wicker on my front porch for about 5 years and it needs to go (or be completely refinished and reupholstered.) I'm think of replacing it with something easier to care for, and less attractive to spiders. Just my experience from NC.

Wrougth iron furniture as well as the door handle. The blocks on the door bright yellow. Stripes on the upholstery in yellow, black and blue and don't forget red as an accent colour using in candles for a romantic look.

I just painted our front door this past weekend using Fine Paints of Europe Hollandlac, a very high gloss oil paint (they also have a satin finish but the gloss is stunning). The finish is absolutely amazing, like glass and just beautiful. They sell a Dutch door kit that comes with everything, including primer, paint, sand paper, stirrers, mineral spirits, the paint brush, and detailed instructions on how to paint the door. I painted mine Moorewood green (and the paint arrived within days of ordering). The painting process takes a couple of days because you must sand, prime, paint, allow to dry, sand again and then put on a final coat. Personally, I love your brass hardware. It is making a bit of a comeback and could be a great compliment with your new green tile numbers.
