These are beautiful. Tonight I saw two birds at the feeder at once for the first time. There is an agressive bird who runs everyone else off. I also saw my first ruby throated bird tonight.

Do you get a lot of migrating males? I don't usually see any males!

In the very first shot I posted above are all adult males . I took that photo on july 7th and then those males moved on . So contrary to what a lot of people think the males which always leave first start the move on Many people think migration doesnt start till mid august , mid august is in my opinion would be peak migration, the time when the count is highest. Then everything is downhill from there , at least thats how it happens in my location.
