Maple wilted....

I moved into my house in october of 2004 and recently have been working my garden over when I noticed a maple growing by my fence....unfortunately I don't know what type!

It's got mostly red leaves but a hint of a burnt orange like colour...

Aside from that, I was working my way towards relocating it, maybe into a big pot, different spot in the yard....currently it's about 2' high with maybe a dozen leaves....

Unfortuneatly I happen to notice today that it just deciding to wilt and touch the ground and I'm not sure why.

i don't think it's got to do with any sort or pesticides/toxins because I haven't sprayed anything but I did plant my garden and maybe something to do with that...not sure....it was looking strong before I planted my veggie garden (currently the maple is around some strawberries, then I've got lettuce tomatoes and such)....may sound weird that I suggest this but it's the only thing I've done since it looked good.

It does seem kinda 'top heavy' (the leaves are pretty big...say 3-4" in size) and I tried to hold it up with my hand but their seems to be no strength to the trunk.

Right now I've just supported it with a piece of bamboo and eagerly await your comments....
