Hi, if you're in Shoreline you're in USDA 8. Looked at your pictures, will have to look for your garden. Friends have bought a place in Shoreline recently - they will also be planting it up exuberantly I expect - so I have probably been near your garden rather often lately.

The Witt Winter Garden is one of the more cohesive parts of the park, with a thematically unified display in a comparatively small area. Clearing part of it to make a vista helped make it more recognizable as a feature. The rest of the facility could use more of same.

Yeah, I agree the Arboretum needs more of this kind of cohesive garden feature. I'm hoping the future Pacific Connections project will be a highlight and the upcoming improvements are sure to improve this treasured landmark of Seattle!

I do enjoy the Witt garden and was thinking of going up there. You saved me some gas money! Very nice. I love the corydalis "Chocolate Stars'. Where can you buy it? Susan

Oh, but you must go to take in the scents and and stroll through the other areas I didn't get a chance to photograph!

I'm sure a few specialty growers here in the NW got their hands on a few Corydalis 'Chocolate Stars' to sell this spring. This is actually a plant that looks striking in MY winter garden right now!
