When to do spring pruning?

15 years ago

I want to cut back my clematis and lightly prune a few other plants, including roses but it's been very cold here with some light snow and freezing temperatures. The ground shows frost heave in places. Should I still wait a few weeks before I get my pruners out? Fraser Valley, BC ~ Zone 8a Thank you.

Normally, any time between Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day.

I'm waiting until the next sunny day above freezing.
