Hanging Potatoes

If you had a 12" diameter plastic pipe, about 12" deep could you grow a potato in it and how many potatoes could you expect it to produce? This is assuming it would be growing in rich compost with monthly fertilizing of compost tea. Los Huertos de Granada

It's time to move this one down the thread. One thing about gardening, it's fun to try new experiments -- if you are successful it's great and if your hanging potatoes are a bust you are out only a few dollars and you have enjoyed yourself in the meantime. Let us know if you try the hanging potatoes and if it is a success or failure. We can all learn from both!
