Mine have leafed out but don't give up -- in the past I have had them come up from the roots but it does take a long time. I have waited until July for the ones I left in the ground. It doesn't work though because they don't start to bloom until too late in the year.

I'm not going to give up yet, but I have a bad feeling about them. This would've been my third year, too, so I'm sad.

I agree with Dotty, don't give up just yet. One year when my Brugmansia's were still outside, it was about the middle of September, the temperature dropped suddenly to freezing, my double white froze. The whole top died but it came back from the root but not until late July. Have you tried scratching it to see if the cambium layer is still green, if not, it still might come back from the roots.

Mine are infested but sort of leafed out. They've got aphids and spider mites. I got a greenhouse for my birthday last year and it was bug party time all winter. I was too worried with keeping it warm to bother with taking care of the bugs....

Well, I scratched it and it's still green under there, so I'll keep on waiting. They're such lovely sticks in pots right now. *sigh*

When I take mine into the greenhouse for the winter I strip all the leaves off with the exception of the very tips. These I douse with a safers soap solution at the sign of any aphids or spidermite, and just give them enough water to stop them from shriveling. Mine are outside now the leaves are just starting to show and they're setting flower buds already.

Update:
I've been watering my brug regularly and it is just now starting to send out little leaf buds. I think it's going to recover. Thanks for the advice on it ~ I'd have given up long ago without it.
