I'm in Portland and mine are blooming in partial shade. So I'm not sure what is going on with yours.

Mine just started blooming as well. The buds didn't appear until a few days ago, so maybe yours are just a little late this year - why not, everything else is.

Mine are late this year, too. I think it's a weather problem since we still had snow on the ground in late April.

Mine are just about ready to open, one or two are blooming. They have the most buds I've ever seen on them, its just loaded. BTW they just appeared in the last week or so. Really robust and beautiful though this year.

I'd like true red oriental poppies in my landscape. Not orange! Any named cultivars would be appreciated.

Papaver bracteatum (giant red poppy), or the orientale cultivars 'Beauty of Livermere', 'King Kong', 'Inferno' and 'Turkenlouis'.

I keep looking for a hot pink one, but never see any. I know they exist, just not in the garden centers I go to.

While I was out earlier I found lots of buds. Mine is a dark pink one. I think Victoria, but I can't find the tag. Those red ones sound beautiful.

Is there a grape colored purple one? Love to have the name of one that color.

'Patty's Plum' for the grape colored one (or 'Ruffled Patty') and try 'Watermelon' or 'Raspberry Queen' for a hot pink colored one.
