When I opened up this thread, I thought you were going to say he died! Seems like everybody is croaking these days.

Met him once when he was here previously. Charming man. Reminded me of my dad.

The first thing he said to me (us) started with "Excuse me..."

I was in his yard with a companion who has a tendency to not respect other peoples' boundaries. The main Foggy Bottom garden was open that day, but not the space up right around his house. We had come across from the garden center, through Alan's place and into an opening in a screening planting between the two gardens. Despite my protestations my 'friend' pushed his way through the tape marking the area as off limits, resulting in Bloom popping out of the house to address us right after I had given up and followed.
