I've got one that I just transplanted into a whiskey barrel this spring. It was pretty root bound when I got it out, and it's in great shape.. I cut off the last 1/4-1/3 of the roots and put it in the barrel half.. Now I've decided I want to harvest one of the 3 or 4 pups that it has growing..

How would I do that? Would I need to take it back out of the barrel and basically just cut one off - roots and all? Or can I just "scoop" one out/off?

What about the "flowers" that it puts out? I guess that's what the pine cone looking thing is... LOL.. The main plant (& pups) have put up quite a few of them already.. Cut them off - leave them? What do the experts say?!?
