Waterfalls / 2000 gallons per minute - THIS is a waterfall !!

Last autumn, I discovered a website for a Grants Pass, Oregon, water feature installer. The photos were great - the work is detailed enough to be "identifiable". This spring, I drove across Medford, and saw this huge water feature being finished at the entry to a neighborhood. I got out of my truck, walked over to the man and said "you're out of Grants Pass?" - response was a "yes", of course. His craftsmanship is excellent - basically ID's itself.

His work may be one of the best kept secrets of the Pacific NW. Up close, his stone arrangement and fit, appears very much like that of Karisu, without the oriental style. Also, I'm not sure if Bryce builds "tranquil" features. I know he prefers large projects.

His website is temporarily off-line, being redesigned strarting this week. I started an album, though, showing that water feature. I plan to recommend him around northern Oregon, at least. Here's the album - the first frame is a VIDEO and the rest photos....

Still a few final details to touch-up. Planting yet to come - not Bryce's niche. He's a stone and waterfall niche.

Holy Moly! That's spectacular! Must cost a fortune. Nice rocks! Nice sound. HUGE. Would really enjoy seeing all his work. Slideshow and video fascinating.

Thanks for posting this! Wish I had 500 acres, 5 billion dollars and could hire him to install something like that near my mansion :-)

It's worth about $225,000

One that like takes months to build - like 5 to 6 months.

That one has close to 324 tons of columnar basalt.

He can build smaller water features than that - certainly 1/4 that size.

Has anyone seen that water feature on Yakima Ave in Tacoma near Stadium H.S.? That's pretty impresive.

Just noticed this topic rose to the surface.

The link was a video of that guy's water feature that I put on my image album. I removed it, because I found Bryce to unreliable.

I heard he wanted work out of the area - like more up north. So I said I'd refer him work from my website. He insisted on giving commission otherwise he didn't want the referral.

So I spent a bunch of time writing an agreement, then delivering it to him in person. Then he never contacts me again.

As a result, I removed the video and mention of him from my website.

It's sort of odd in one way, because nobody else has ever tried to insist on conditions before to send them work. Anybody else I've met and referred, is glad to have the referral.

It was like Bryce was trying to attach strings to something that was not his place to attach strings too.

His workmanship seems sound. If anything, I'd just question the business relationship angle.

Thanks for the update mdvaden. I googled him but could find nothing. Weird. I've been fantasizing about having a water feature like this ... yeah have to win the lottery ... and was surprised when your link was blank. How many ppl are wealthy enough to do this?

Oh well, water is an awesome wonder and somebody else will create amazing waterfalls. When one door closes others open eagerly!

Eamonn Hughes of Hughes Water Gardens in Tualatin is a highly reputable local pond/waterfall installer. His garden center is well worth visiting, it is on Stafford Rd. Just south of I205. I highly recommend visiting it for anyone interested in ponding.

You don't have to be wealthy to have a waterfall/pond. I have 9 and I assure you I'm not wealthy. IF you are handy you can do them without a pro.

My biggest pond is 8 x 13 or so. Kinda shaped like a lightbulb rather than rectangular. DH ran the electrical in a conduit and our filter is DIY. The biggest expense is the pump (pony up for a good one like Pondmaster) and the liner.
