consider floating your sofa to face the tv and place your georgeous modern chairs on either side, nearer the tv. drapery panels like your idea book would be wonderful. Or if the chairs are the preferred seating for tv watching, see the attached photo. Larger artwork on the tv wall will help and adding larger plants. Love your furniture!

I think a fun, bold pattern for your drapery would really add a lot to your room! Much like the black and white pillow on your sofa!! You can do many (creative DIY projects) to fill your room up as well if you are not really in the market to be spending much money. Houzz has some great ideas as well as many other DIY links on the web! Let us know if we can further assist you!

thank you all for the ideas! The dimension of my living room is 11x17 ft. First photo was a panoramic shot which made the room look so large. I cannot place the sofa facing the tv as it would block our access to the hallway. I really did not want to have TV in my living room coz i know it will ruin the aesthetic of my living room and it did. I have no idea how my hubby convinced me to have TV here :p

I really like using pattern for my drapery like the Chevron Ikat panels from Bed Bath and Beyond (which is now on clearance) but i am afraid the pattern will clash from the pattern i already have on my roller shades? I was also considering maroon and black&white, again im afraid it would wash out the pattern on my roller shade.

I love the picture you posted, Patriciarhall.

    Thank you all!

Could you move your tv to the small wall opposite the wall it is currently on? The wall is smaller and would be a better size for your TV. Then you could put your sofa on the wall where the TV is now. The chairs could be one one each side of the sofa or two on oneside opposite the window. A rug would help to center the room, I guess I see a shaggy thick rug in your favorite color, maybe something with red, gold and black similar to your pillows. You could use the three pictures above your sofa but put them in a straight line. Ideally larger ones would be better.

Thank you Dar. I will try moving my furniture around this coming weekend.
Since you suggested a rug, would it not look silly on a wall to wall carpet?

Not at all, it is quite common now. Take photos of the results!

Rugs on carpet is really big right now. It adds some color and helps ground your room.
