I have one of those 3 variety cherry trees that is now huge and unfortunately producng maximal numbers of black cherries and fewer Bings and Ranier. No one in our household has found any use for the black cherries and they simply fall to the lawn below making a frightful mess of the lawn, feet, etc.

I have started pruning back all the black cherry branches in hope that the other varieties might expand in to the open areas but I'm thinking there has to be a better solution. Is it possible to graft in some of the other varieties to the cut branches from the black cherry side of the tree?
