Am I overwatering?

My three year old gold flame honeysuckle has a lot (maybe 1/3) of yellow leaves. I see no sign of powdery mildew or insect damage. The leaves are just losing their color & are easily removed from the stem with no tugging at all. Air circulation doesn't seem to be a problem, as it's not that dense yet. In spring I planted a couple of roses at the base of the trellis & have been keeping them well watered. I'm pretty bad about fertilizing (don't really believe in it), so maybe it just needs nitrogen. Other than the yellow leaves it's growing like gangbusters, & for the first time ever, blooming it's head off. Embarrassing to be having a problem with such an easy plant, but would appreciate any thoughts.

Having the same problem with a trumpet vine, 2 or 3 years old. (Oak Grove area of Milwaukie.) It is in a ginormous pot and growing up the greenhouse. Some leaves are mostly yellow with little round green spots in a splattered effect. Can't find any sign of insects, webs, etc. Doesn't seem to be heat damage (unlike a poorly-placed maple tree which has crispy leaves after all that heat last week.) The trumpet vine replaced a honeysuckle which I got rid of because aphids made it an ant freeway.

Maybe it's just all the sudden sun we've had?

That's probably the problem. The leaves look just like your picture. The foliage that isn't in the sun all day is ok (so far.) I picked that plant because it is supposed to be bullet-proof, though. Seems like I have the most problems with the "easy" plants. 5 yr old Russian sage are finally respectable-looking but the butterfly bushes are just embarrassing!
