Help choosing a crabapple

I am trying to decide between a Royal Raindrops, Prairifire or Purple Prince crab. Looking for disease resistance, fruit, and coordination with a Cercis Forest Pansy which is nearby. (The rest of the area will be green-leaved Japanese maples)

I have two Prairifires, and I love them. Can't think of a single bad thing about them.

I also have a Prairiefire. Brought it with me when we moved 2 years ago and even though it's been plunked and uprooted a few times, it's doing great.

The first one has added interest of Amur maple-like leaf shape and has been care free for a few years on Camano Island.

Went for the Royal Raindrops. Its purple color seems to hold up well in the heat, and as bboy mentioned, I liked the maple-like leaves. Thanks!

I have Golden Raindrops (a parent of Royal Raindrops) and LOVE it. You'll be happy.

Now, if only I could bring myself to rip out my diseased purple leaf plum and plant Royal Raindrops........

Notice that mildew is just "good" which means that some has been seen on it somewhere. As with roses, if a fungus resistance indication for a crab apple is anything less than immune or excellent you may see some fairly substantial infestation at least some years.

And susceptibility varies from one locale to another.
