This post has been up for several weeks and I must admit that "ocean spray" meant the native shrub, Holodiscus discolor, to me. And I could not imagine how one would make a "jug" out of it.
I know that the pioneers made nails out of its wood that pegged/ held their log cabins etc. together because the wood was very hard, but a Jug??...................

I'm thinking cranberry juice containers.
I read somewhere that the local natives used to use the wood for arrows from Holodiscus discolor.
