McClure & Zimmerman, mzbulb.com, says most daffodils are hardy zones 3-8. We get enough chilling temperatures for daffodils so we don't need special varieties. Most daffodils have come back reliably for me. I like to interplant them with plants voles like to eat since they are poisonous.

Every Daffodil I've ever planted has grown like a weed here.

Zone 8 in The South and zone 8 here are not the same because of their long, long hot summer, they have many, many more days over 85* than we do.

Buy any Daffs you want and disregard the zone 8 info.
