Just thought I would introduce myself. I signed up a while ago, but for whatever reason didn't bookmark it, and well, got busy with other things, lol. Some of you may recognize my moniker there, I've used it on other forums like Rainyside (miss that forum...)

I live in the greater Seattle area, been gardening for 20 plus years in the same place, so you would think that I'd have a handle on all this, but things always seem to be at sixes and sevens around here. Probably would help if I wasn't so lazy about weeding, lol.

Been focusing on Native Plants and Wildlife habitat for years, kind of re-focusing at the moment on Hummingbird habitat in the garden this year. My winter flowers are attracting half a dozen or so at the moment, if I'm counting correctly. I have window mounted feeders up too, but the plants are probably more important to them, and the compost pile for insects.

I will admit to an inordinate fondness for vaccinium, mahonia, and fuchsia varieties... but that's probably a subject for another post, lol.

Bear, I have a huge list for the hummingbirds, be careful what you ask for ;) In general, i prefer natives when I can, and have a pretty good selection of those, but I am not above checking out yet another Fuchsia species or cultivar (I think I have about a dozen hybrids, and three or four species at the moment, depending on what survived the freezes this winter!). And of course the winter stuff I posted in that thread. This last summer I decided to try a bunch of Salvia and Cuphea varieties, and a Nicotiana or two. We will see what made it and comes back. Some of my favorites are unfortunately not that hardy, and I don't have a greenhouse to overwinter the "temperennials".

Thanks for the welcome! I'll apologize in advance, if you haven't noticed already, I tend to post long winded replies *grin*. Hopefully that won't be too much...
