Wow - these strange shaped windows are always wonderful for light - hard to decorate around.

Here is what I see - your headboard is disappearing against the wall, along with everything else in this large walled room.

I would suggest getting a very substantial drape rod (with finials) to go across the entire wall, placed in the middle of the space between the sets of the upper and lower window group. Take all the blinds down and utilize the rod so that you can pull the drapes open and closed. Pull the bed a little way out from the wall, so the drapes can hang straight behind the headboard. I would make whatever draperies you might choose cover this entire wall. Of course, this will mean that your lovely picture behind the lamp will have to come down.

What I think this will do, is bring the eye back into the space where you actually live and keep the furniture and room grounded into your living space. The heavier rod will help balance the space since your bed sits on the floor. You will still have the light from the upper tier of windows, but this will just become an architectural element, rather than the entire focus of the room.

I love the leather box chest - but I would place this at the foot of the bed?

Are you going for a zen feel? Not sure what direction you want the rest of the room to have -
If you have simple drapes, like a nicely lined linen - then I would use a different texture for the bedding - like a tuffted satin quilt on the bed, or vice-versa? The standard go to for some ideas is of course, Pottery Barn - see if they have anything you might like to copy? Ballard Designs?

Yes, if you can, I would add a carpet to the room - but I would make it go at least half-way under the bed - this will make the room look larger in the space you occupy and more cohesive. And definitely WIDER than the bed.

I cannot tell what color the walls are, or the bed-pillows from the picture - however, I would suggest a darker solid color for the drapes, or something with a simple design - (not stripes) -
of course all of that is a personal choice. I would just keep it simple and perhaps pull some colors from the rug you choose?
