They look like slate floors to me

    Thanks for your question!

I can only tell you they are a dark grey porcelain tile, in a 12x24 format, but they are not slate. (although you can get a similar look with a black slate tile, it would be more rough looking, not this smooth.)

I don't have the exact brand/style of the tile. They were purchased a few years ago.

Is the black paint on the door a gloss or a semi-gloss?

It looks like those tiles are raised. How did you attach them to the hardwood? Or what exactly did you do?

There had been wall to wall carpet over the hardwood before, so the subfloor under the entry tile was actually slightly higher than the hardwood. (Which made the carpeted floor more level with the old tiled floor)
It was decided to keep the different heights, in this instance, rather than remove subfloor under the old tile to level things up.
The tile was not installed over hardwood.

Do you know what grout color you used between the floor tile? I would like to do something similar and would like the grout to blend with the tiles as much as possible.

We used a dark charcoal grout. Not sure the exact shade, since there are many grout companies out there, and the exact info is not in the file. Grout comes in a limited number of colours, so it shouldn't be too tricky to find a shade that works with the tile you selected.
