Try "buckskin pony". It's not terra cotta, or brown, or orangeor close to red.. I can't remember who makes it but it's available at either Lowe's or Home Depot.

I like tile like this with varying shades of color. It gives you more leeway when choosing paint colors. What style is your home. Are you in the south west?

Benjamin Moore makes a color called "Mexican Tile". Using it on your house is completely dependent on the style of your home.

I have a bedroom painted in Kelly Moores pumpkin butter. It's pretty cool. Like a suede color.

The perfect color is one that will work with the rest of your permanent finishes, so it depends not only on your taste, but what specific color will coordinate BEST with everything else. I like the sound of "Pumpkin Butter", which reminds me of a cinnamon color I've used in decorating. It's delicious, but I'd use it primarily as an accent color so you don't overdo it.

In the home shown below, some of the walls were already painted a lighter version of "cinnamon" or what could be "Pumpkin Butter", so I added darker & brighter cinnamon accessories to punch it up. This cinnamon color looks awesome with light to dark grays, silver, & warm whites. (Photos rarely show the true colors accurately, but you get the general idea.) It would also be a great complement to any grayed blue or grayed teal tones.
