Name That Rose!

A rose by any other name (blah, blah, blah)

I've just joined my local Rose Society and they are very "big" on knowing the names of all the roses in your garden. I have a few David Austins and I know all the names of those. But I have two rose bushes that I planted when I first bought my house three years ago and the tags are no more. They were cheapies -- I think I bought them at KMart or Walmart for $4.99. Any ideas? Also, I have another rose that is marked Rosa 'Bonica' -- isn't this a general name? Shouldn't there be a more specific variety name?

Bonica is either Bonica or Royal Bonica, which is the newer version. check helpmefind.com to ID which one you've got.

The pic you posted might be a Flower Carpet - is it low growing, well armed, thick & stiff caned with glossy, dark leaves?

Thanks, but I don't think it's a "carpet." It is climbing over my eight-foot fence into the neighbors yard. It's got a lot of thorns, the leaves aren't really dark, just normal green. It has many, many flowers that repeat. It has a subtle fragrance, nothing to write home about.
