Any ideas about what this climber is?

This climber was languishing under a Norway maple when we moved here 19 years ago. I moved it to this location without even knowing whether it was a shrub rose, climber, or what, since it had done nothing under all that shade. It obviously likes this spot! I would love to know what it is. It blooms in mid-June with sprays of smallish (about 1-1/2-2') semi-double blooms, fuschia with white centers and an occasional white stripe down a few petals here and there. No rebloom, but plenty of thorns. Slight fragrance. Ideas?
