Easter Freeze

I have a Japanese Maple I bought from Home Depot and planted a week or two before the big Easter Freeze. It was healthy looking with lots of leaves when we bought it. We were out of town during Easter, and didn't get stuff covered up. Now the limbs are yellow, no leaves, and the trunk of it is starting to turn white. Is there any way to save the tree. Our crepe myrtle is also having a hard time.

My established crepe myrtles have new leaves beginning now. I thought my established Rose of Sharons were done for, but they are coming back as well.

I have done nothing but make sure things are well watered, which is what was recommended.

Even though your maple was not established I think you need to do the same. Don't prune, don't feed.

My redbud, and pecan trees are starting to sprout again. The wygelias are sprouting near the ground...we will have to cut them off almost to the ground. The crepe myrtle haven't done anything yet, I'm still waiting. I think we just need to give everything some time and see how it goes.
