How Big are they AtokaDawn????? Used to cut down trees when needed but I don't have insurance anymore and you need to have homeowners for me to do it anymore. I have references.

The only insurance I have is to cover the house. They are full grown trees. They are not the fluffy ones, more the type that go staight up.

Call several tree companies from the phone book and have them come out for an estimate. Make SURE that they carry their own insurance, bonds, and licences.... that's a must. Ask for proof of insurance. A reputable company will carry plenty of personal and property insurance and worker's comp. Ask if you have to have a permit to remove a tree in your community. If so, find out if that is your job or the arborist's. (They can usually go and have several done at once.)

Decide ahead of time just what you want included with the job: removal of the tree from property, stump grinding, clean up? Make a deal on the FINAL price and GET IT IN WRITING! A reputable company will be sure that you have a contract. Don't pay in advance but immediately upon satisfactory completion of the job.

Know that the location of the trees and their general condition will make a difference in the price. Most trees can be felled without a bucket truck, it just makes it easier. ;-)

Good luck! The safe and effecient removal of full grown trees can be difficult sometimes. But a good tree crew can fell pines in a jiffy!
