Opalka isn't a new variety - have you tried it? It's quite a little love if your into paste types.

Hi Bill - Mariana's Peace is another many of us are trying this year (there is a discussion about it further down the page). It isn't a paste tomato but any tomato can be a canning tomato. In fact, many prefer to make their sauce, paste, stewed, etc. out of non-paste types.

Finding unusual plants at the nursery can be difficult so many of us grow our own from seed. Are you looking for transplants or willing to grow from seed?

Over on page 2 of the forum is another discussion where many posted their growing lists for this year. It's called something like "Planting list here..." It will give you lots of ideas for new ones to try.

But if you want to stick with paste types, then like Tom said above, you can't grow wrong with Opalka. San Marzano is my second favorite paste type so consider them too.

Good luck with your tomatoes.

Dave

Yes I been keeping my eye on those posts about the Mariana's Peace. I am going to try it. Also Tom, I am going to ask my wife if she wants any paste type this year. If so, I will give yours a try also. I know she is wanting some of the currant types. Also, yes I will grow from seed. Thank you both Dave and Tom for your in put.
