I'm losing two mature dogwoods, I think, and I'm crying the blues. They have dead leaves all over the whole tree. Not sure if it was the actual lack of water or if that made them weak and susceptible to the blight.

My sapling redbud looks poorly, but I think it will make it.

Well, my old redbud is about to bite the dust -- but it's been working on that for several years. I've got one youngish (about 15 years) maple that is looking stressed, but not fatally. I've got dead leaves on the ground, but I haven't really looked closely at the mature (about 90-100 years) maples to see how they're doing.

I have a red Japanese maple that is about 18 years old and has been beautiful until this year. It too has the dead leaves in the very top, and quite a few of them. I have been very concerned about it.

I've noticed the things we have lost this year were also heavily impacted by voles last fall and winter. The little tunnels through roots made things dry out even faster than otherwise.
