Do you only want to include "named" irises?

I ask because I have an excess of irises from starts that a friend gave me a few years ago. I thinned the bed out last fall and replanted the excess rhizomes in a tire planter just to hold them.

The problem is, I've never been able to positively identify what kind they are, however, you see them all over the place here in Texas, planted at old homesteads. They have white blooms (although I can get purple ones, too) and are about 12" to 14" tall...

I just planted my first "named" irises last fall, so it'll be a while before they need thinning...

    Let me know...

If we don't know the names we at least need to know colors. I don't know the names to but a few of mine and still not really sure enough to trade with that name. Except for Joyce Terry I would trade her as true to the name.
As of now you are the only one to show interest. Need more people to play . We can wait till our Irises bloom to be sure of the colors.

I Think it would be fun to just Exchange Iris. I just collected a bunch of them from a closing Park. I dont know colors but it would be nice to have different types and colors. I know there are purples somewhere in all these Iris. I would love some whites Iris. I'm not worried about names.Let me know if you decided to do a Iris Round Round where colors and names are not required.Kayems

I would be interested. But I also do not know the names. Let me know.

I would love to trade, only have one named, but many very nice looking, if we wait til after bloom, which has started here, we could have pictures of all of them.
I have pictures of about half of mine, the others are too small to trade anyway.

    Let me know, thanks

We have six people as of now. We are getting enough together to play. We will wait till our Irises bloom that way we will know the colors we are sending. Everyone e-mail me after they bloom. You can post your Iris Color wish list here if you want.

Here are the Details for playing:::::

    1. We will be sending the same amount of postage to get the boxes back to us as we used to send them.

    2. We will put a note inside telling what colors we sent and what colors we want to get back if at all possible.

    3. Make sure our addresses are on the note along with GW name .

I will be happy to take any suggestions from you players to make this easier and more fun. Will post again after the blooms.Thank you for joining in on my RR.

I would love to join in. I can't include any named Iris as I just planted them this year. But I have loads of purple/yellow and lavender. Am I too late?

I would love to participate. I only have a couple to send. I don't know how a round robin works. Let me know if you do it.

I've got iris coming out of my ears at the house I moved into. I really need to clear out the beds. Most of them I know the colors but some of them she planted in full shade so they aren't blooming so I don't know what they are.

Hi Cheryl, I used to live in Georgetown, Texas where they had those white Irises you speak of in the older parts of town. They are Iris florentina, a historical species Iris, originally- and currently- grown for perfumery (they are fragrant) as well as to make orris root and homeopathic remedies. I love those! But I can't do a swap at this time because I am ill. Just wanted you to know what you had.

    Has everybody's Iris bloomed yet?
Most of mine have bloomed. Let me know if this is still good with you all.
    TIA

I would like to join too!

I would like to join, too. I've never done an iris RR before. Are we doing unnamed ones? I love bi-colors. Who do I need to send my address to - or do I?

Only about 1/4 of my colors have bloomed. My problem is that I need them to bloom to know which is which, I am starting to mark them with zip ties at the base according to color, not tight of course. That way when they are done I can dig them all up and plant according to color.

Beautiful here, but much later than down southÂ
