Cleaning Poem

I asked the Lord to tell me
Why my house is such a mess.
He asked if I'd been 'puteing',
And I had to answer "yes."

He told me to get off my butt
And tidy up the house.
And so I started cleaning up...
The smudges off my mouse.

I wiped and shined the topside.
That really did the trick...
I was just admiring my work...
I didn't mean to 'click.'

But click, I did, and oops I found
A real absorbing site
That I got SO way into...
I was into it all night.

Nothing's changed except my mouse
It's very, very shiny.
I guess my house will stay a mess...
While I sit here on my hiney.

The purple box arrived yesterday packed with goodies. There was a darling 6 piece ceramic kitchen set with daisies and lattice fence, lotions and potions, AND six different packs of perennial seeds. Perfect! Although I do a few annuals for containers, my entire yard IS perennials.
PS: The purple box goes very nicely with my red hat.

I got a lovely flowered picture frame, a nice set of 4 reef themed placemats and coasters,a little quote book by Maya Angelou, and 6 cute wineglass markers. I think my favorites, though, are the window vase and the soap embedded rubber ducky. I was pleasantly suprised to find the duck was not one I already had, giving me a total of 53 different rubber duckies. Wow....Anyway, thank you so much for the thoughtful and useful package.

So I was cruising craigslist and found a post for an apartment full of houseplants for 100.00 with the price negotiable depending on what kind of home they were going to. I wrote her about what kind of life her plants would have at my house and I get them all for free!!! There are a couple of ficus and some tropicals and an umbrella plant and others...I have not seen them yet but will be picking them up in the next couple of days. I am so excited and had to share this with everyone!! We don't have any house plants right now. We've been building a deck and installing a hottub and I'm so stoked to have some things to decorate the new addition with...Woo-Hoo!!

My July Secret Pal came through!! Woo-Hoo!! It pays to have faith:)
here's what s/he put in...bath salts...laying in the bath is one of my all time favorite past times...some pot-pourie, gardening gloves, twine, some seeds, a watch that Joey confiscated immediatly and a way cute garden sign that says Sowing Seeds of Happiness....it is going on the fence or wall by the veggie garden...love the goodies!!!
Definatly gonna make time for a bath this week....

I received a Hershey's collector's tin, an old ice cream scoop (extremely awesome!!!) an assortment of herbal tea bags!, a ceramic grinder with the wooden grinder in it!, 3 little ceramic dishes with avacodoes on them, gardening gloves, a chick garden stake, hostas, polkadot plants, and iris (they look to be mini's!!!)I love them all!!! I have the same question as Frosty. Should we continue without a leader? I too did not receive an August box.
How are the rest of you doing? I know a lot went out late. Do we want to regroup or just call it a day? I for one really like the concept but boy if someone backs out it can really be difficult to fill the gap. Ideas anyone?

I received both months boxes and sent out both months boxes. I was quite enjoying this. I like picking for different people each month. Do we really need a leader? We all have our lists and instructions - maybe we just need to know who is not going to participate.

As for now, I'm going to continue to send my boxes...

I have not received my August box, but have sent it out and would like to continue anyway...Here's what happened to Lissa...she put a note in to Gardenweb to say she was on vacation when she went to New York to help with her husbands grandfather and they interpreted it as her leaving all together...and as a result she can't long on until they get the details worked out...red tape and all...this was as of about 10 days ago when I posted for her...if you have more current info, please post here.
